Scripture: 2 Samuel 5:1-5

As I write this, I am seeking hope that I will not fall here at Croasdaile Village at my age – now 2 weeks shy of 93. I pray that God will help me to be safe every day and that my friends will not fall, even using a walker or cane.

The tribes of Israel were looking for hope. Are you looking for HOPE? I am looking for HOPE! Hope for a better day tomorrow. Hope for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to accept Jesus as their Savior. Hope that they will seek the leadership of the Holy Spirit and pray every day.

The tribes of Israel recognized David as their own flesh and blood kinship. While Saul was King of Israel, David was their military leader. He killed the giant Goliath with a slingshot and stone.

The Lord said, “You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.”

And God would bring His Son to Earth from the long line of David. Do you have a Shepherd this Advent Season? Do you need hope? Jesus would leave the 99 sheep behind to save the one. We each are the one. He loves us that much. The Lord is my Shepherd. Let Him offer you hope and peace.

Joyce Camp is mother to Lynn Odom and lives at Croasdaile Village. She has 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
