Prayer Requests & Confidentiality
How we receive, share, and safeguard prayer requests—and what to do in a crisis.
📝 Simplified Summary
Share a prayer request with us. Choose who can see it (staff only, prayer team, or public bulletin). We treat requests with care and limit details. If anyone is in danger, call 911 or dial 988.
1) How to Submit a Prayer Request
- Email: info@yateschurch.org (prefilled subject).
- Phone: Call the office at (919) 489-2309.
- Optional form: We support creating a simple ACF form that emails from
noreply@webmail.yateschurch.org(with your consent choices below).
2) Who Sees Your Request
- Staff Only (default): Pastoral staff/office for care and follow-up.
- Prayer Team: Shared with a small, trained group committed to confidentiality.
- Public Bulletin/Email: Name and brief request may be shared with the congregation only with your explicit consent.
Requests are shared as necessary with the Ministry Team, Deacon chairperson, or Care Team coordinator. Confidence is strictly maintained until you grant consent for wider disclosure.
3) What to Include (and Avoid)
- Share first name(s) and a short description (e.g., “surgery Monday,” “job interview”).
- Avoid posting detailed medical diagnoses, legal matters, exact addresses, or other sensitive information in public requests.
- For minors, use initials or role (“student in youth group”) unless a guardian consents to more detail.
4) Confidentiality & Consent Options
- Confidential by default unless you choose a broader audience.
- Consent checkboxes on forms can include: Staff-only • Prayer Team • Public bulletin/email • Do not contact.
- Email is not end-to-end encrypted; share only what you’re comfortable emailing. We can follow up by phone if preferred.
