Scripture: Revelation 22:20

Feel the love! Our ability to love others comes from having first been loved. It is love that brought us into the world. Love that has nurtured us. Love that sustains us.

And yet, each day is a mixed bag. Filled with griefs and missteps. Sometimes disasters. Even Christmas Day, the best day of the entire year, can be dulled by sadness, nostalgia, weariness. Have you ever had a day which was both your best day and your worst day?

Christmas can be like that. Up, down, up again. The birthday of Jesus represents the fulfillment of the promise of our salvation. Yay! But our salvation comes at such a great cost, the crucifixion and death of Jesus. How can we celebrate on a day which echoes the foretelling of a tragedy? When we know that the sacrifice is worth the outcome. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are saying yes to God’s plan of salvation for us. This requires some reflection.

Do you really believe that Jesus’ sacrifice is worth your salvation? This is the deep, deep love that we can share with others once we have felt it for ourselves.

Revelation 22:20  …Yes! I am coming soon!…Come, Lord Jesus.
