Prayer Cards for Preparers
We Ready What Your Love Will Bless
We set this table not for show,
But that your grace, O Christ, may flow.
We wipe and wash, we fold and place,
We make this room a home of grace.
Our Labor Is Communion Too
Not only bread and cup we bring,
But hands that serve and hearts that sing.
We come with quiet, sacred care,
That all may meet your presence there.
We Make a Space for Grace to Fall
We sweep, we slice, we sort with care,
That all may know your welcome there.
This is our joy, our reverent call:
To make a space for grace to fall.
We Thank You for the Task We Bear
We thank you, God, for call and chore,
For moments spent behind the door.
Unseen, we serve—but not unknown—
You meet your people where we’ve sown.
We Are the Quiet Hands of Praise
We labor not for gain but grace,
That all may find a sacred place.
Our work is prayer, our task is praise,
A holy gift for holy days.
Paten
A flat plate used to hold the bread during communion.
Chalice
A cup used to hold the juice/wine for serving.
Intinction
A method of communion where bread is dipped into the cup.
