Deacon Nomination Committee 2025
Help discern and nominate leaders for the next year of ministry. The election will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025.
What is the Deacon Nomination Committee?
The Deacon Nominating Committee (DNC) is formed each year to help the church discern and nominate servant leaders in the church. It is made up of two current Deacons and four members at large, with the current Deacon Chair serving as committee chair. Members serve for one year and may not be re-elected the following year. While serving on the committee, members are not eligible for nomination to the Deacon body. Together, this group prayerfully receives recommendations, discerns the needs of the church, and presents a slate of Deacon candidates for election. (Yates Bylaws VII.D.1)
Eligibility Requirements for DNC Service
Age Requirement
Members of the church must be at least 21 years old.
Immediate Family
Only one immediate family member is eligible to serve.
While Serving on the DNC
Members of the DNC are ineligible for nomination to the Deacon body while serving.

Submit Your Nomination
Use this form to nominate up to two eligible deacons (from the list) and up to four write-ins. You may submit between 1–6 names total. Please submit by Sept 1, 2025.

DNC Election Information
(This is the election of the Deacon Nomination Committee, not the election of deacons for next year. The Committee will prepare that slate for the Annual Meeting in November.)
Service Vote
Voting will take place on Sunday, September 7. Ballots will be distributed during worship.
Absentee Process
Absentee ballots may be requested through the church office and must be returned by 11:00 AM on Election Sunday.
