Waiting for…Answers
Lamentations 3:19-24, Philippians 4:6-7, Luke 23:56, Job 38:4-7

The Saturday after the crucifixion, it seemed all hope was lost as Jesus was dead and in the tomb. Where were the promises? Where was deliverance? Where was justice? Where was hope? As long as we live, we have to go through periods of waiting. Maybe you’re waiting for a prodigal child to return, healing from a detrimental health diagnosis, mending of a relationship, a new job after being terminated from a job you didn’t want to lose, and the list goes on. It’s too easy to become impatient and anxious when things go wrong, and we are stuck waiting for the outcome.
The disciples may have felt defeated and hopeless. Plus, the disciples had no choice but to rest on Holy Saturday as it was the law since it was their Sabbath day. Maybe we should rest too. Rest in the waiting knowing that God is working behind the scenes as we faithfully continue to bring our prayer requests to Him. He’s got this! We have to trust Him especially in times when it appears there aren’t any answers and uncertainty looms. God may not give us the answers to all our problems on this side of the grave, but He has a plan that far exceeds our understanding. He knows best! Just remember that Sunday is coming!
