The announcement by Governor Roy Cooper on Friday, May 14, while not a surprise, did come a few weeks earlier than we expected. The easing of indoor meeting capacity, distancing and masking guidelines is a welcome change, and we are pleased to be able to make new plans. As you know, we had previously announced a return to indoor worship services at 10:30 am each Sunday beginning next week, May 23. As this has been our plan, and it had been our intention to worship outdoors if possible this Sunday (May 16), we will continue with our plans as we have previously made them.
The Resumption Roundtable will be meeting this week to discuss plans for the church given our rapidly changing circumstances. We will be announcing plans for worship guidelines going forward as soon as possible. We are pleased that there are new possibilities open to us, and we look forward to considering our next steps together.
