The Yates youth ministry seeks to integrate the youth into the larger life and work of the church through the leadership and influence of many great adult mentors from all walks of life. Programmatically the youth ministry operates in the following ways:
Wednesday Nights – Bible Study at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church (our sister church)
In our world of member stealing churches, consumer Christianity, and broadcast preaching, we believe that Sister Churches represent a fresh Kingdom-minded reality.
5:50pm – Youth meet in the church office and shuttle leaves from Yates (or you can meet at Mt. Hermon at 6:00 pm)
6:15 – Bible study and snacks at Mt. Hermon
7:30 – Back at Yates
Sunday Mornings – Sunday School (in the Attic)
9:45-10:45 – We gather for a big group ice breaker and then divide by grade for smaller group lessons.
Sunday Nights – Dinner, Worship, and Spiritual Formation (in the Attic)
5:00-7:00pm – We enjoy a meal together, a time of student led worship and contemplation, a lesson, and fellowship – this year we are studying and discussing the spiritual disciplines – “Grace is not opposed to effort, it is opposed to earning. Earning is an attitude. Effort is an action.” – Dallas Willard
