The Yates youth ministry seeks to integrate the youth into the larger life and work of the church through the leadership and influence of many great adult mentors from all walks of life. Programmatically the youth ministry operates in the following ways:

Weekly Schedule

Wednesday Nights – Bible Study at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church (our sister church)

5:45 – Shuttle leaves from Yates (or you can meet at Mt. Hermon at 6:00 pm)
6:00 – Bible study and snacks at Mt. Hermon
7:30 – Back at Yates

Sunday Mornings – Sunday School (in the Attic)

9:45-10:45 – We gather for a big group ice breaker and then divide by grade for smaller group lessons.

Sunday Nights – Dinner, Worship, and “A Year in the Sermon on the Mount” (in the Attic)

5:00-7:00pm – We enjoy a meal together, a time of student led worship and contemplation, a lesson, and fellowship – this year we are studying the only sermon Jesus ever preached – it seems that the teaching where Jesus was most direct (i.e. not in a parable) is the one thing Christians take the least literally!

2017-2018 Special Events

Our Annual Fundraiser with dinner, dancing, and an auction – students wait tables, prep food, and other duties in exchange for the funds that make our missions activities possible.
