Sunrise Service Directions:
For the sunrise service on Easter Sunday morning, please enter Maplewood Cemetery at the newly remodeled entrance on Duke University Road. Note the map below:
From Yates Baptist Church, turn right out of the parking lot onto Chapel Hill Road, and follow for about 0.6 miles. Make a left onto Anderson Street, and follow for about 1.2 miles. Turn right onto Duke University Road and look for Maplewood Cemetery on the right after about 0.4 miles. Enter Maplewood Cemetery turning right from Duke University Road at the newly remodeled entrance. Once in the cemetery, make the first right turn at the roundabout. The service is a short distance into Section 1 of the cemetery.
[Editor’s note: Some of you have driven by recently and noted that this new entrance doesn’t look open or ready. We’ve been given assurances that it will be open for us on Sunday morning, but just in case, be prepared with an alternative plan. For a secondary route, from Yates, turn right out of the parking lot onto Chapel Hill Road, and follow for about 1.7 miles. Make a left into Maplewood at the Chapel Hill/Belfort Street Entrance. Once inside the cemetery, stay straight to follow the main path after the entrance past the first two turn offs. Make a right at the next turn, immediately followed by another right to follow the eastern most path down to the roundabout. Follow the roundabout to the right and take the second right out of it. The service is a short distance into Section 1 of the cemetery.]
