Over the next week, Yates Baptist Church is inviting the congregation and friends to participate in the collection of several necessary items for immediate use on the Gulf Coast through the NC Baptist Men.

We will accept contributions for this project in the church office by next Friday, Sept. 8. Financial contributions can always be made by visiting www.baptistsonmission.org/hurricaneharvey.

There are 3 types of donations we are accepting:

  • Hygiene Kits Use a 1-gallon sealable/Ziploc plastic bags (freezer bags are tougher) and fill with a variety of the following. Soap, Lotion, Shampoo, Deodorant, Washcloth, Comb/brush, Facial tissue, Shaving cream/razor, Toothbrush/toothpaste, Feminine hygiene products
  • First aid kits Purchased (for up to $10 each) at grocery and drug stores.
  • Diapers and/or formula

Please note:

  • We are NOT accepting water, bleach and clothing at this time. Our state disaster relief partner, the NC Baptists on Mission (www.baptistsonmission.org), asks we do not deviate from this list.

This is a time to pray for the needs of the neighborhood and world, acknowledge the abundance we can share, recognize our responsibility to care for those who are hurting and to be reminded that one is never too young or old, and no gift given in love is ever too small, to make a difference. Contact Christopher Ingram 919-489-2309 ext. 201 or christopher@yateschurch.org with any questions.
