Worth the Wait

Nearly ten years ago Yates made a significant investment in the future of the church. We decided to purchase the two properties adjacent to the church with the plan of one day increasing our parking. We didn’t know when this would occur, but we took at step of faith that a God would provide a way and the means. Today, in the summer of 2017, it is exciting to look at the construction of this new parking lot and reflect on how God has been faithful, fulfilling all of our plans and dreams.

That’s how our relationship with Christ works. We have to faithfully trust him, not knowing what the endpoint or outcomes might be. Waiting requires patience, relying on God’s promises to sustain and lend hope when the end cannot be seen. “I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.” (Psalm 130:5)

But we know that God, in His perfect time, will create countless blessings for us when we value our relationship with Him. “For I know the plans that I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jer. 29:11) Acts of faith may take years to realize, but God’s ways are always the best and are worth the wait. Praise God for His faithfulness, His promises and for His provision to each one of us and to Yates!

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Eph. 3:20-21)
